We haven't been updating the website as often as we should, so heres a recap of things that have been happening...
We had a Locals Jam to celebrate the start of summer. It rained. When we rescheduled it though the sun was out and everybody was ripping, people got free stuff from our wonderful cafe, and all the footage was destroyed because we used haggard old tapes. Gutted.
Next on the agenda was "Soul Shakedown" the rollerbladers jam. The inline scene is tiny round here but we still got 6 or 7 guys to step up and make it a memorable one. You can check footage on our youtube channel.
Then came our flagship skateboarding event, King Of The Castle. Now in its 4th year we've come to expect carnage and mayhem and whizzplanking at its best, including the now traditional miniramp wall grind from Norm. The mountain of an edit can now be found on youtube.
This year also saw our first event afterparty at the grand, featuring the finest ska, funk and dubstep from the skaters themselves.
And in the near future...
The Foot Jam Jam. Our newly branded BMXicans competition, in association with the Cellblock promises to be amazing, with some really big sponsors coming this year. The event is on SATURDAY 7th AUGUST. Be there.
Then we finish this run of events with the BOWL JAM. It rained last year, and people were still getting rad. Expect gnarliness in its purest form. The event is on SUNDAY 22nd AUGUST.
Finally I'm going to start some rumours;
Theres something happening which should hopefully be ready by September, which means you can come and hang out and have a brew in the dry during those annoying 10 minute showers. More as it happens.
There's the potential of making a couple of minor changes to the parks obstacles, nothing is confirmed yet, but were hopeful.
Oh yeah, We also helped Norman Wright launch his new skate/tshirt company Wrecked. It was rad. Check his stuff out, search "wrecked skateboarding" online.
I'll try and update more frequently from now on. Post stuff on the forum, it'll keep me entertained.
